Weirdos are talking to our kids again online! We thought that trend ended years ago, but our complacency has allowed this problem to return. I remember back when I taught Catholic School (yes, they let me teach catholic school in grad school – shout out to U Pope John XXIII), we were being progressive by teaching kids and parents how to be safe and be aware of potentially nefarious predators. To quote Prince “Pimps and things like to hang outside and cuss for kicks.” Now, there may be no “Joy in Repetition” when it comes to this lesson, but the fact that after all these years we again need to worry about a problem we thought went away shows that the lesson of how to keep our kids safe on the internet bears repeating.
