Dry Shampoo a Smart Investment or a Just a Puff of Air?

By Mary Thompson –

Busy schedules are the culprits
In a perfect world giving hair a good wash on a regular basis would be as easy as lather, rinse, repeat
and towel dry. Pretty straightforward right? Wrong! After all following that routine would continuously
result in the fateful dreaded bad hair day.

This occurrence that could put a damper on even the sunniest of beautiful days is highly avoidable
through the diligence of a proper hair care routine that goes past cleansing into styling as well.
Nevertheless, the hectic busy days which have become the norm of our society, and any attempt to slow
down just doesn’t fit into everyday lives.

Could there be a short cut to achieving a proper haircare routine without compromising the essential
duties of everyday life?

Once again technologies’ ever-evolving speed has found a way to make self-gratification a reality even
when it comes to beauty. This secret to lovely locks purpose is in its name “dry shampoo.”
What exactly is it? Can a few spritzes prevent dull, lifeless hair?

The key to a bottle of good quality dry shampoo is its ability to absorb the toxins of every day like and allow styles to last much longer. Below is a list of the best brands to get the job done while at the same time enveloping strands in some much needed nourishing particles.

KLORANE Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk “Standard Size” http://amzn.to/2xGHKjS One of the most significant doubts most
people have in turning to dry shampoo for a quick fix is whether or not it’s doing hair any good. The best
thing about this product is the ingredients, or better yet lack of some since the good ones speak for
themselves. Nothing translates into long-lasting health and beauty than missing Parabens and Sulfates.
So what’s in it that indeed makes it suitable for hair?
Oat milk that will protect strands from those pesky split ends Corn and Rice Starches which absorb the
impurities that tend to build up throughout the day.
So, forget about it merely being a quick fix on days when proper hair care just isn’t in the cards, on the
contrary, it’s something that’s good for you too. If that wasn’t good enough both a standard and travel
size, make it possible to feel clean and fresh not just at home, but on the road too.

DRYBAR Detox Dry Shampoo  http://amzn.to/2yLKrGb One of the critical elements to the most highly
sought after types of dry shampoo is whether or not they can genuinely detoxify strands from toxins
which are an inevitable part of everyday life. The label on the can says it all. Just a few shakes can turn a
couple of minutes into a full cleansing routine.
No doubt nothing will take the place of a deep cleansing haircare, but when that just isn’t possible,
surely this will be a good substitute.

BUMBLE AND BUMBLE Prêt-à- Powder “Standard Size” http://amzn.to/2zbgKu2 The uniqueness of this product
is what makes it so impressive. Unlike most dry shampoos that can be applied through spraying them on
this one comes in a powder form thus enabling the user to take indeed control of how much of an
application they are truly using.
Just a few shakes and massaging techniques which are similar to standard shampooing genuinely allow
the substantial volumising effects to sink in. Thus, putting an end to the days of lifeless grimy looking
locks which are the epitome of a bad hair day.
How can so much goodness be in one little bottle?
The ingredients speak for themselves. Honestly, could anything else be expected to come from the
components of Oat Flour, Pure Silica, Clay, Corn Starch and Kernel Flour? The long hours of styling on
days when there is time certainly won’t be in vain, in fact, they’re sure to stay for much longer than
expected.

So what’s the consensus?
Shortcuts to beauty are hardly the best option to be encouraged on a regular basis. However, when life
gets in the way of a proper hair care routine, it’s good to know some items will really get the job done.

Not only will these products make you look and feel beautiful, but they’re bound to do you an ounce of
good too.

The Many Faces of Lip Treatments

By Mary Thompson –

There’s more to lip gloss than meets the eye
One of the biggest misconceptions about lip treatments is that they’re only a frivolous luxury that is sought out for reasons of vanity. On the contrary, lips deserve more TLC than most other parts of the body because of their sensitivity and thinness, thus increasing the chance of injury.

Don’t let these fool you they may be cute but, that doesn’t mean they can’t-do some good too These medicated lip treatments are ideal for everyday use and not just to heal. Their sweetness, scents and cute containers make them perfect to use every day at home or on the town.

FRESH Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 https://amzn.to/2z2I3qB This product is the perfect
example of treatment meets wearable makeup. Just a couple of applications will bring a boost of all-day moisture, not to mention the sheer pink colour that will add a glossy shine to lips. Plus who can say no to the protection of SPF 15 that as everyone knows is essential to protect lips from the damages of the
sun? With so many shades to choose from, there’s bound to be colour made just right for everyone.

FRESH Sugar Lip Polish http://amzn.to/2xBt3if For the coming winter months this product is an absolute must. I wouldn’t recommend using it for casual everyday use. Nevertheless, as it is with many medicinal ointments, it’s much easier to take when sweetened with a bit of sugar. Not only will a tiny
dab of this applied on a daily basis heal the driest and chapped lips, but the sweetness is always much appreciated. Given that the main ingredients are the healing properties of sugar, molasses, Shea Butter and a hefty dose of vitamin E outstanding lasting results are all but a given.

BITE BEAUTY Everyday Agave Lip Collection http://amzn.to/2z397FY This product indeed gives lips all the healing attention they deserve in more ways than one. The Agave Lip Balm offers lips the extra soothing care on a daily basis, while the Agave Sugar Lip Scrub will gently exfoliate lips by cleansing
them in a milky emulsion. For a little more of a hydration boost, an overnight treatment of the Agave Mask is sure to do the trick.

What’s not in it? Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates. What is in it? The main ingredients are Bees Wax, Castor Oil, Olive Oil, Blue Agave plus a touch of sweetness of Vanilla and Pomegranate. Not only is it good for you, but a bit of sweetness helps things along as well.

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask http://amzn.to/2xBxMQV As it is with all aspects of beauty care one
thing that catches up to all of us, in the end, is the need for anti-ageing remedies. Sleeping masks aren’t
just for the lines on faces. When we age, lips can show the signs as well through the appearance of fine
lines. So, why not give them a bit of overnight attention through a mask.
The best thing about this product is one simple treatment can leave lips soft and supple all day long. The
absence of Parabens and Phthalates does a dose of good as well. The anti-oxidant properties of vitamin
C with some berries mixed in will truly help turn back the time on your lips at least.

TARTE Quench Lip Rescue the Rainforest the Sea™ Collection http://amzn.to/2z3bMPZ One of the reasons people tend to shy away
from giving their lips much needed moisture on a daily basis is the lack of colour most lip treatments
tend to have. The great thing about this product is it truly is a blend of colour and moisture with lipstick
surrounding a moisture boost gives the luxury of a lovely amount of colour and hydration all in one.
With a wide array of colours to choose from there’s bound to be a shade for everyone.

SUPERGOOP! AciaFusion Lip Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 30: This is one of those under-appreciated
products which should get more credit for all it does. No doubt one of most significant contributors to
lips showing signs of age is the effects of the sun. Not to worry this product can be worn with your
favourite lip colour, and the presence of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates well you won’t find them
here. Instead, all there that’s present is an excellent broad-spectrum protection without the caky feel
which can typically result from the application of such strong acting sunscreen.

Whatever the reason…
Any of these products are sure to delight.

Why Giada De Laurentiis is Racist

It’s my duty to get on a soapbox here: I was
watching the Food Network, where this drink was
being featured on an episode, and I heard Giada
De Laurentiis actually say the word “LASSIE”
– like the dog!  I almost threw my glass at the
TV.

I understand most “closet racists” are at home thinking, that’s not racist – she didn’t say the N word or ask someone to pick any cotton or shoot someone because they had a hoodie on.  But you see, it IS racist in the sense that it is so culturally insensitive to not learn how to pronounce a word correctly.  It actually takes Effort to be this ignorant.  I’ll explain why:

It’s not that she couldn’t
pronounce it, it’s that it’s apparent she didn’t
even try to learn how before talking about it on
television. If you’re going to enjoy something
handed down from a given culture, you should
have some respect for that culture itself. It is
not difficult to say (LUH-See), and that’s UH as
in “Duh” in case you or someone you know is
having trouble remembering it ;).

ABOUT LASSI
Lassi is a popular Indian & Pakistani yogurt based
drink. It is made by blending yogurt with
water (or milk) and spices. Lassi is often flavored
with ground roasted cumin. There’s also Sweet
Lassi, which is yogurt and water/milk blended
with sugar or fruits (Mango Lassi seems to pretty
popular in Indian restaurants here in the States).

What to know how to make one??

YOULL NEED:
• 1 3/4 cups fat-free plain yogurt
• 6 cubes of ice, crushed
• 1 1/2 cups  of ….

Hair Care Damage Repair Favorites

Shouldn’t your locks get a fair shake as well?

When it comes to cleansing routines most of us tend to zero in on skincare, thus forgetting that giving hair a bit of TLC is just as important no doubt blow drying, flat ironing, curling and colouring are far from what would be considered as maintaining healthy hair.

After taking a closer look at all these strenuous activities hair is put through on a daily basis. It makes more sense to take a look at time spent repairing the damage that’s routinely done.

Turning back time may be wishful thinking, but that doesn’t mean the damage that has been done can’t be erased.

Below is a list of the best hair care products for damage control. After all, clothing may show wear and tear, but that doesn’t mean hair has to. One thing to keep in mind is that these products may not fall into the category of being economical. Nevertheless, the results are well worth the price.

Keranique ($35.00) http://amzn.to/2g4W7bP One of the most unpleasant effects caused by heat activated activities, and the changing climate is dryness. Not, only can it be felt through locks which are dry and coarse instead of soft and silky.  The all natural key ingredients in this little bottle of Schinziophyton Rautanenii Kernel Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil and Cyperus Esculentus Root Oil are good deterrents of dryness and split ends. Just a simple spritz application after hair is cleaned thoroughly and towel dried will act as a shield against blow drying and other heat activated styling activities that are sure to follow.

Captain Blankenship Mermaid Haircare Set ($75.00) http://amzn.to/2fKsYG7 This is one of those products where the name pretty much says it all. For those who choose to escape the oncoming winter months by heading for warmer climates, this product is a lifesaver. Not only does it take the guesswork out of which products to use in conjunction with each other to get the max results, but ingredients such parabens, sulphates and phthalates won’t be found here.

The all natural organic blend of argan oil, aloe vera gel, arrowroot powder and sea kelp extract are sure to give hair the boost of moisture, volume and shine without much effort. The dry shampoo is more of a maintenance tool when giving hair a good wash just isn’t in the cards. Just sprinkle a bit of the powder from root to tip, combed through and styled, as usual, is all it takes to get the job done.

The sea salt hairspray will add a boost of body and shine without the harmful effects of drying out later on down the line. Lastly but just as important, the hair oil can be utilised as a scalp treatment that would prevent buildup which would usually occur after hair hasn’t been washed for quite some time.

At first glance, the price may be a bit steep, but considering all the products are top of the line and not travel sized versions. All in all, this turns out to be a pretty good deal.

Alterna Haircare Caviar Anti-Aging Overnight Hair Rescue ($40.00) http://amzn.to/2xO2Gr8 Most people associate anti-aging with skin care. Much like a facial mask this treatment requires an overnight soaking to get the full effects. Don’t let the idea of 24-hour soaking scare you your strands will be absorbing all the right stuff guaranteed.  So, what’s in it? Vitamin C, caviar extract and other marine botanicals that will help restore hairs shine, helps revitalise even colour treated hair and promote fullness and body. It’s amazing how much you can turn back time in just 24 hours.

Briogeo Rosarco™ Repair Winter Hair Renewal ($48.00) http://amzn.to/2fLpPWA It’s no secret that cold winter nights usually result in the dry, itchy skin. I love this product because it addresses all the problems of dryness and flaking that can come with those crisp, chilly nights. As it is with the other items mentioned the repair shampoo, conditioner and reparative leave-in conditioning spray are all free of any harsh ingredients. If used together your hair will get the full benefits of rosehip oil, argan oil, coconut oil and vitamin E. Thus, increasing the chances of obtaining soft, lustrous hair full of shine and body, while most importantly free of dryness and split ends.

Don’t pass these up they just may surprise you

Haircare and skincare go together. After all, if you’re going to do something as important as maintaining health and beauty might as well do it right or not at all.
