Make-up That Just Looks Like a Million Bucks

Does looking like a hottie and not a hot mess require a small fortune?
It’s no secret that in the back of every woman’s mind after minutes or hours of primping coming
out looking runway ready is always a strived for goal. However, the misconception is that being
photo shoot ready looks certainly don’t come cheap. At times, it can cost as much as $50 or
more for a single bottle of foundation. So, does this mean that those of us who can’t shell out a
few hundred dollars for a full set of cosmetics are simply out of luck?
On the surface, this may seem to be the case. However, after further digging finding diamonds
in the rough of popular drug store/high street brands is no longer wishful thinking but a

All-Natural Worth the Buck or Nothing at All

By Mary Thompson –

Are all natural cleaners really the best way to kill the germs in your home while saving
the earth? Or is there no place under the kitchen sink for products made with bleach free
ingredients that aren’t worth the labels they’re printed on?
One of the main things' consumers look for when shopping for cleaning supplies, is products
that are tough on dirt. As a result of the busy fast paced lives our society has evolved into
cleaning the house on a daily basis is hardly possible. That being said taking a few hours to
clean is usually done during the weekend or wherever a day off chooses to fall. But, honestly
who wants to spend a whole day which is supposed to be devoted to rest and relaxation, elbow
deep in rubber gloves and mildew?
Wasn’t the point of purchasing cleaning products, to reduce the effort and cut time in
half?
The main marketing claim of these “all-natural” cleaning products is that not only are consumers
choosing to use them saving the environment. Nevertheless, they are just as powerful as
conventional cleaners. After all, wouldn’t it be great to cut through the grime without the strong
fumes chemicals tend to exhibit?
It’s a win-win situation, so what’s the problem?
The problem is only one of the parts of their marketing scheme was valid. These products are
indeed absent of all harsh fumes. The scent they do let off is hardly similar to that found in
products, which contain high amounts of bleach and other disinfectants.
Nevertheless, the positive side effect of earth friendly cleaning end there. The reason why you
can’t smell the ingredients it cause; there’s hardly anything present to begin with. This is evident
in the fact that using these to clean the bathroom results in the chore taking practically double
the time than it would with products of conventional solutions.
But wasn’t making the process easier the whole point of purchasing these products?
Without having the ability to cut through the grime thereby making the cleaning process a
breeze rather than a struggle, makes one question the point of these products in the first place.
Another highly noticeable discrepancy is the consistency of the actual products. Compared to
conventional surface cleaners that seem to be thick and grab onto gunk and grim. All-natural
cleaners, on the other hand, seem to be so watered down in consistency that to the naked eye
what comes out of these containers could indeed be mistaken for H2O. However, the
discrepancies don’t stop there. When trying to remedy the problem by lathering it up with a little
bit of water in order to perhaps get some bubbles to form up the results are so minuscule they
might as well be invisible. Adding to the question is anything in there to begin with?
It’s no secret that taking care of the world is always helpful. But, come on there’s a limit!
Ever since pollution and global warming landed itself on societies priority list numerous methods
have been put in place to combat

Ladies, are you ever too old for flavored lip gloss?

Is anyone ever too old for flavored lip gloss?
Most of us can relate to having our first introduction to makeup coming in the form of Bonne Bell lip
gloss. It’s wide variety of colours, scents and flavours were enough to make any little girls eyes go wide
with delight. If that wasn’t enough soon they came out with a line that involved the combination of a
shimmery substance that would add a sense of glitz and shine as well.

Nevertheless, it’s no secret that in order to find any Bonne Bell products in super centers such as Target
and Walmart. All anyone really needs to do is follow the signs leading to Hello Kitty and Barbie themed
cosmetics. Otherwise known as products for little girls. That is mother approved.

Are these cosmetics that can only be described as undeniably adorable reserved solely for the kids? Or
can those who are young at heart get in on the fun too?

It’s no secret that turning back the clock is something that so many would love to do. However, until the
fountain of youth can be found that dream will continue to an unreachable fantasy that has little to no
chance of becoming a new reality.

Has TV Gotten TOO POLITE and Wimpy? Is “free speech” just a blanket term for silencing opposing opinions?

The New Standard, Polite TV by Mary Thompson –

Has TV Gotten TOO POLITE and Wimpy??
Have we gotten too sensitive?
It used to be that we could easily say times haven’t really changed. Aside from new fashion and
technology. Claiming that values have remained exactly the same was once a viable statement to make.
Nevertheless, what was once alright just isn’t anymore.

Whether this is the result of more negative aspects coming to light or the simple fact that we as a
society have become too touchy. One thing for sure it’s doing more harm than good.
Is censoring negativity leading it to multiply further? Talk about

How Dancing Like an Indian Man Helped Me Escape the Colombian Cartel

So, I’ve never told this story publicly.  First – you’ve gotta understand, being a latin pop musician is often like being a member of the rat pack, but in spanish.  Although I’d love to fancy myself as Dean Martin, let’s face it – I’m prob Sammy.    You could be going about your business innocently, but crazy shit happens.   This is true for musicians stateside too, part of the biz – but as a Hindu I’m usually the only one without a gun. Not even sure I’d know what to do with one!

On one of these crazy days, I was in Colombia and was tagging along with a friend who was creating a map of old school Escobar style mansions. Upon approaching one, he decided to ring the bell to ask if we could see the inside.  An old lady answered the door and OK’d our entrance.  It is important to note that my friend is american-white, although he’d lived in latin america for a while he was still very noticeably not hispanic.  Within minutes of us looking around the amazing house it became quite clear that this was an active cartel house (embarrassingly not my first either, just like Sammy, I end up stumbling into these places more often than I admit) .
Soon, a local guy showed up with two tourists (a retired Texan and a young Irish party-goer).  Both had obviously been drinking.  Did I mention it was only 2 in the afternoon? Well, the two sat down and demanded drugs and hookers -as if they were ordering sleaze from a restaurant menu. The local guy saw my friend and me, and I overheard him tell the lady of the house in spanish that we “belonged to him” and that We were paying the bill for his two gringo goons and that he should get a commission.  Again, did I mention it was only 2 in the afternoon?
This is when I turned to my friend and let him know that we needed to get out of there QUICKLY. However, upon trying to leave, we noticed that the front door was chained and locked shut with a giant padlock!  We were trapped inside, and on the hook for God knows how many Thousands of dollars (even in pesos) that these two weirdos were spending on hookers and blow!
Their girls showed up, and it was comically clear to see they were obviously not happy about having to hang out with these two guys.  Even though, I have to say, pretty stellar music had been playing on the radio in the background and these women were Stunningly attractive – but these two guys were Only interested in getting wasted and talking about sports (or whatever nonsense they were yelling about).
My friend at this point was pretty useless, he was not able to sense the warning signs, and at the sight of two other white guys he was too excited to want to leave their side: joining in on whatever inane drunken conversation they wanted to have.  I tried to discuss with the lady who let us in, that this was ALL A MISTAKE and we needed to leave and had nothing to do with these guys – and long story short: it was pretty clear we were going to get shot that afternoon. VERY QUICKLY it became a situation of “We need to get out of here, or we are going to die” – and any minute.
