Latin Grammy season is here! Which means I’ve got to try out lots of hair products to see which ones are going to be my go to choice for the Red Carpet this year.
This week I tried out a variety of products from a brand called ALEVAI. Which has a lot of STEM products. WTF is STEM for your Hair you ask? I asked the same question, and here is the answer: STEM is short for Stem Cell “technology.” I put technology in quotes because that seems to be a popular buzzword in the hair industry lately, but it just sounds like marketing speak. I only found one scientific article on using stem cells for hair and it involved stimulating growth. All other info out there seems to be from brands’ blogs.
I couldn’t find any downsides to trying this out – cons: my hair might get unmanageably thick. Pros: maybe it’ll reverse some grey or give me back some of the waves I had as a teenager?
So I essentially tried out a huge chunk of their product line. The ingredients seem all natural and has a bunch of stuff that I would normally put in my hair as part of regular routine. The results feel pretty great. I tried these in the following order (click on the titles of the products to see more info on them):
ALEVAI Stem+Shampoo
This one was self explanatory, used it like any other shampoo. The instructions said to use it with the conditioner simultaneously – but I did the shampoo first.
ALEVAI Stem+Conditioner
After shampooing and rinsing, I applied the conditioner (generously) and let it sit for 3 minutes.
ALEVAI Stem + Hair Mask
After rinsing out the conditioner, I applied the hair mask (again, generously) and let it sit for 5 minutes. I then rinsed and towel as well as air dried.
ALEVAI Stem+Scalp Serum
After about an hour, my hair was dry and I applied the scalp serum massaging it in and working it through my ends a but (not required but it makes for some good frizz control).
