How to Take Sleep Aids without Breaking The Fast

SPREAD THE LOVE -

Many R4RR readers are intermittent fasters.  Why? Because it’s #$%ing Awesome!  One of the big question that all fasters face is “Will _____ Break My Fast?”   Will a supplement break my fast? Will Ambien break my fast? Will CBD oil break fast?   Let’s face it, if your eating window is during the day and you’re in your fasting window right before bed – – you might be wondering how you’re going to fall asleep.  Especially when that crazy IF energy kicks in.

If you’re following an intermittent fasting protocol involving night time fasting, you may be wondering if it’s okay to take a sleep-aid. After all, you are technically putting something into your body. The answer is complicated and it depends on a few factors.  However, when in doubt, it safe to assume it will break your fast.  Especially since nearly all pills, even the most natural ones, seem to have fillers like rice flour and the like.

A lot of people will say “nah, don’t worry about it.”  The same type of people who put the word Bro at the end of any sentence – even if you’re not a guy.  “You’re thinking too hard, don’t worry it about, Bro.”    I’ve found that most people are more concerned over stopping the emotion of worry rather than solving the actual thing they might be worried about.  There is nothing wrong with healthy concern and asking questions.  Sure, will breaking fast actually affect your results? maybe not – but where is the FUN in that? If you’re going to take on an IF lifestyle you might as well do it right!

So what do you do? Just stare at the ceiling until it is time to get out of bed again?  Well, sometimes.  But here’s a solution! Vape.  (WHAT?? Yeah but with some caveats).

Why Vaping for Insomnia?

If you’re looking for a way to help you fall asleep, you might want to try using a vape. Vaping can help you relax and feel drowsy, making it easier to fall asleep. There are even some vapes that are specifically designed for sleep, with ingredients that can help you relax and drift off to sleep – without any calories. Of course, not everyone is a fan of vaping, so if you’re not into it, there are other ways to help you fall asleep. You can try using a noise machine or reading a book before bed or even these Binaural Beats on Amazon and Spotify . But if you’re looking for something a little different, vaping might be worth a try.

The Best Vapes To Help You Fall Asleep

The R4RR team has amassed a list of the best vape products to help you fall asleep that won’t break a fast.  There were 2 criteria for a product to qualify:

  1. No THC or any other mind altering stuff. CBD or Melatonin is OK.  You’re not trying to get high, you just need to get your usual supplements/sleep-aids in vape form.
  2. No sweet flavors.  Some studies have shown that even having the sensation of a sweet taste in your mouth will trigger an insulin response. This would ruin the benefits (and purpose) of your fast.  Oh man, I wonder what kind of damage that dream I had about french fries did.

Heartbeat Lyfe Sour Diesel

This might be the best smelling thing on the PLANET!  You can smell it through the packaging. Reminds me of college ;).    At first you might think, how is a Sour Diesel CBD Vape going to help me fall asleep?  Well despite the ritalin-like focus period, you’ll be able to drift off once you decide to call it a night.  The best part about non-narcotic CBDs is it won’t hit you over the head like an ambien or a benadryl will.  It just helps you take control over your overactive restless energy.  We do suggest you take this a couple of hours before bedtime though, just in case.

Blue Buddha PEACE Vape

As you can see these come in what looks like tampon applicators.  Or big nasal inhalers.  Don’t accidentally use them as either! These containers are actually brilliant, there is a childproof cap at the bottom – that will take a bit to figure out but long story short: twist until the pegs are lined up.  All childproof caps should be like this.  This is an Indica – with Limonene!!  Limonene helps digestions, relieves anxiety, etc. all on its own.

Lucy Jane Skywalker OG

Grassroots Harvest has all sorts of vape options, they also have a Blueberry Afgoo flavor, which has thc-0 in it (which doesnt mean no thc, btw),   But don’t worry, the Skywalker OG will relax the $#!+ out of you.  Save this one for when you’re actually ready to turn off for the day.  If you were an ambien or benadryl user before you got turned on to fasting, this one might do the trick for you if nothing else works.

Pure CBD Vapors sells an American Uncut “Grape Ape” (a name for a specific blend) that has more of a sedative effect.   Some vape reviewers report side effects like nightmares if they take too close to bedtime, however.

It’s no secret that a lot of people use vapes to help them relax and fall asleep. There are even some products on the market that are specifically designed for this purpose. So if you’re looking for a way to get a good night’s sleep, you might want to give vaping a try. There are a few things you should keep in mind when using a vape to help you sleep, though. First, make sure you’re using a product that is high quality and free of any harmful chemicals. Second, start with a low dose and increase it gradually as needed. And finally, be sure to follow all the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid any accidents. With a little bit of planning and care, vaping can be a great tool for getting a good night’s sleep.
