When the seasons start to heat up it’s best to be prepared
These days it seems as if it will never warm up outside. After all, who ever thought it would still be cold going into April! So I’m sure some readers are thinking, as soon as it warms up I am going to stop having to lotion everything ALL THE TIME.
Well, guess what, not true. Perhaps not as often – and when it gets humid outside there might be different products for different humidity levels but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t need some love.
On days when humidity and perspiration are the norms, heavy moisturizing products may be the last thing your skin needs
For most people rising temperatures equal days on the beach to get a little sun and soaking up that vitamin D. As relaxing as all that sounds, one element that isn’t so fun and can’t be ignored is the harmful effects of too much sun.
In order to avoid the devastating effects of sunburns, protection is the key. However, not all bottle of sunblock is created equal. One of the biggest factors which clearly differentiate the types are the amounts of SPF (sun protection factor).
Another element essential to sunblocks is a waterproof quality. Since, what good is that protection going to do if it gets washed off in the water?
But What about Moisturizers that aren’t heavy but still protect the skin?
This is where we turn to body butters. First off, body butters seem almost indulgent. Some brands are so nice it feels naughty to use them. But, they’re actually good for you. Keep in mind, however, you may still want a layer of sunblock on top of your body butter. And straight out of the shower? Pappaow! Start with your feet and work your way up, Slowly. Put on a little Latindian Style music while doing it and I guarantee you it’ll be magical ;).
There are lots of Body Butters, most are pretty great – you want to look for all natural ingredients like Shea Butter or my personal favorite: Coconut Oil. You know me and coconuts . Purlisse makes a new Coconut Oil line of body butter with Coffee, Cranberry, and Orange Blossom respectively.
OK so I get excited about this brand often, but I don’t know – I just dig it. It’s like they make stuff with me in mind :D. In case you want to check them out these are at https://purlisse.com/collections/coconut-oil-silky-body-butter-collection
I also find myself using Pure Romance’s Euforia Shea Butter quite often.
These are some products that I actually use myself – so feel free to let us know your suggestions too!
The Shea butter is good stuff, very soothing for the skin.
