Unless you’re a writer yourself, you’re perhaps not looking at COVID-19 Shelter in Place to be a boon for knocking out pages of your next movie script. In fact, judging from the fact that thousands of people protested lockdown I am assuming that most people are unhappy about being unemployed, or having to be homeschooled etc.
This is where outsourcing comes in. When I was in grad school Porter’s Value Chaining was all the rage. Essentially value chaining is outsourcing anything that you don’t do best. The philosophy has served me well in life. It works. Michael Porter is awesome. If writing is not your forte, a writing service can be a real help. And surprisingly cheap.
While many of you want to get help with college applications or job application, I’m sure some of you may have clicked through to this article while looking up “how do I pay someone to write my paper cheap?” And yes, this means homework too. Writing services can do kids’ homework. This is legal in 2020. Amazing.

So I looked at Maven Writers and while I can’t directly vouch for their services I clicked various options out of curiosity and was surprised that if I were a high school/college/junior high kid, or looking for a job, or applying for college I could get someone to write most anything I wanted for not that much money at all. In fact I thought about getting someone to write an article for this blog – it would cost me all of $16.50. If I wanted someone to write a book for me, we’re talking $3k. Now, I like writing myself but this is good information to know.
So what do you think? Ethical or not? Is it wrong to get someone else to write homework or applications for you or is it an effective use of value chaining/outsourcing?
