Could Xfinity Mobile be the Next Best Thing?

A cleverly constructed smoke screen

Despite their ever-increasing prices, without a doubt, Comcast Xfinity has been the world’s leader in home entertainment. Clearly, they have been having been able to stand their ground amongst the onslaught of still competition from a company that offer the same features or more for much less.

Nevertheless, even after all this Comcast Xfinity still manages to come out on top.

All is not as it seems

Saving a few dollars a month seems to be on everyone’s radar. Therefore, it’s only natural to assume that consumer demand caters to quality products at an economical price. One of the key marketing ploys Xfinity Mobile marketed upon was their pay by the gig program.

Getting something out of nothing just isn’t in the cards

At first, glance paying $10 per gig of data used seems like the ultimate bargain, since most mobile phone monthly bills can total to couple hundred dollars a month easily. Throw in the claim that Wi-Fi hotspots are everywhere, so hardly any amount of data from the plan will be used anyway. This clever marketing technique comes off as a legit deal.

After all, since Xfinity provides Internet connections to households across the county, they must know what they’re talking about right?

Sadly, that isn’t exactly the case. In the end, it becomes evident that in order to reap the benefits of this money-saving program the individual has to be in a heavily populated area. Without this essential component most month mobile billing statements can total staggering amounts.

Could stylish, low monthly payment and better yet no credit check stylish phones are brought in to sweeten the deal?

Absolutely, and quite easily in fact! After all who would not want an iPhone for monthly payments $20 or less depending on the model. Nevertheless, upon reading between the lines, suddenly things aren’t as rosy as they seem.

Once customers decide to change providers, those low monthly payments can turn into a pretty hefty lump sum.

Can’t they just take the phone back?

Nope! Once again things are far more expensive than they seem. There are no returns or any loopholes to get around it.

It sure is easy to get in, but almost impossible to get out

When the harsh reality of high bills, taxes and device monthly payments comes into play customers are surprised to find out that it is almost impossible to get out of Xfinity Mobile’s grasp. These unfortunate stressful situations are mostly due to the backdating of billing cycles.

Upon coming to the decision to discontinue service customers are shocked to find out that billing cycles are unlike anything they’ve seen before. They are not month to month but backdated by two months. In other words, those attempting to discontinue service will find out that not one month’s bill has to be paid off, but two.

In the end, after all the numbers are crunch suddenly the amount more closely resembles a small fortune, as opposed to the so-called great deal. Just when things couldn’t get anywhere else phone numbers can’t be kept and switched over to the customer’s new provider because the phones can’t be unlocked.

Apparently, due dates count for nothing

Just when the price hike seemed to have gone far enough, it just got worse. It’s only common sense to assume that bills are due on their due date. In the case of Xfinity mobile, this would be on the last day of the month.

However, what isn’t mentioned after all the t’s are crossed and the I’s are dotted is that bill payments will be deducted from payment methods on file precisely on the 21st of the month.

Customers who want to pay their bills when they’re actually due can forget about sidestepping this issue. Once again instead of finding convenience, all that’s left is another trap. Payments can only be completed via automatic billing.

If something’s too good to be true then it probably is…

In a day and age when getting the best deal is the key to economic survival, stop and think. If something is far cheaper than its competitors then there’s got to be a catch.
